What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions started in Asia and made their way west. Not to be confused with the self-stick false eyelashes
of the past, these semi-permanent, synthetic extensions are bonded on one by one by a certified eyelash technician using tweezers and adhesive. The lashes stay on for up to 2 months depending on your lash growth/shed cycle. They give your eyes an instant lift without any needles or injections, allowing you to wake up with the look of mascara without the smudging.
After I get my new Eyelash Extensions, will people even notice a difference in my look?
Yes, instantly. Hopefully, you’re good at receiving compliments... you’ll be getting lots of them. You’ve been warned!
What are the qualifications of a Red Carpet Lash Stylist?
Our stylists are true artists! Not only are they licensed and certified, but more importantly, they have been hand-chosen for their exceptional artistic flair.
How long do Eyelash Extensions stay on?
Normally from four to six weeks, our lash extensions will stay on your natural eyelashes for the remaining lash life when applied correctly, sometimes up to 2 months.
Does the procedure hurt?
No, there is no pain. Eyes are kept closed as you recline and relax at our spa.
Are Eyelash Extensions safe? Even for contact wearers?
Yes, they are safe, hypoallergenic and waterproof. Safe for contact lens wearers.
What are Eyelash Extensions made of?
Our lashes are made of a synthetic material, which is very soft and naturally curved. Our lashes are crimp-resistance and extremely flexible.
How thick will Eyelash Extensions make my natural lashes?
Typically a full set of lash extensions will thicken your natural lashes about 30 to 50%. If you are used to wearing the strip or flair extensions, you will find this technology is not as thickening as the old technology. It is designed to give you a more natural look.
How long will Eyelash Extensions make my natural lashes?
On average, the extensions can make your lashes anywhere from 20% to 50% longer than your natural lashes. We can extend them out as long as 75%, but we find they don’t last more than a week.
What do I have to do to maintain my Eyelash Extensions?
Although some people get eyelash extensions for a special occasion or vacation, most love the look so much they choose to simply maintain it. This requires touch ups on a 2-3 week basis to replace lost lashes. After several touch ups, your stylist may suggest a new set in order to keep the lashes looking fresh and new.
How soon before an event should I have Eyelash Extensions done?
We suggest 2-5 days before that special event. This insures accurate curing time for the bonding agent (which can take up to 48 hours) and the freshest possible look for the lashes.
Do Eyelash Extensions damage my natural lashes?
No, not at all! Combining our eyelash extensions and adhesive creates a polypeptide bond, specifically for human lashes. The adhesive dries very soft on lashes, allowing Red Carpet eyelash extensions to stay flexible and bouncy just like your own lashes. Our lashes will adhere to the lashes softly and comfortably while not damaging your natural lashes or causing the natural lashes to fall out.
Can the Eyelash Extensions be removed?
Yes, at any time for any reason. Your eyelash professional will use a lash-free adhesive solvent to remove them from your existing lashes with no damage to your natural lashes.
Will I feel the Eyelash Extensions?
No, they will feel just like your own eyelashes.
Can I still wear mascara with my Eyelash Extensions?
Our lashes naturally darken your lashes, for that extremely vivid eyelash look so mascara is not necessary. If desired, you may wear water-based mascara on the tip of the eyelash extensions for enhancement but never use waterproof mascara or mascara remover. Water-based mascara should come off easily with just soap and water while washing your face or showering.
Can I still wear eyeliner or shadow?
Yes, however please exercise care when removing eyeliner or shadow. Utilize a Q-Tips or make-up remover cloths. Please do not use any oil-based eye make-up remover.
Care and Maintenance
Now that your lashes are long, thick and beautiful, please follow these easy care instructions and they can last indefinitely with regular touch-ups.
Do not wash eyes or shower and avoid crying, sweat and steam for 24 hours after your lash application.
Do not swim or spa for 48 hours after lash application to allow adequate time for bonding.
Be gentle with your lashes.
Avoid rubbing and pulling your eyelashes.
Avoid oil-based and waterproof mascara. Only our specially formulated mascara for extensions can be worn. Regular mascara is not recommended for use as it will dissolve the bond with the lashes. Gently remove mascara with water-based eye makeup remover. Apply water-based mascara on the tips only.
Avoid any creams, eye makeup removers, lotions, sunscreens or cleansers containing oils on or near eyelashes. Oils can loosen the bond of lash extensions. Care must be taken to apply eye cream sparingly with avoidance of the lash line area.
Do NOT use an eyelash curler on your extensions. Red Carpet recommends touch-up appointments every 2-4 weeks to fill in the areas where the natural lashes has fallen out and new lashes are growing in.
